To Global Leaders:

 

We, Palestinians, Israelis, and citizens of the world, call for an immediate arms embargo against Israel until the end of its oppression of Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank.

 

Arms sales to Israel have fueled its decades of oppression of Palestinians, including the genocide in Gaza currently unfolding. The devastating assaults on Gaza have been well-documented. Two in every one hundred Palestinians in Gaza have been killed, nearly two million have been displaced, and those who remain risk imminent starvation and renewed bombing. Most residential and public buildings in Gaza have been destroyed, and the healthcare infrastructure is in ruins.

 

The ceasefire deal should have been the first step towards a lasting solution based on justice and security for all. But the government of Israel has shown no signs of changing its ways. It has broken the ceasefire and renewed its deadly assault on Gaza, further jeopardizing the lives of the Israeli hostages remaining in Hamas captivity. This clearly shows that it plans to go back to business as usual: occupation, ethnic cleansing and genocide. President Trump’s call for Palestinians to leave Gaza appears to endorse this. 

 

The International Court of Justice has ruled there is a ‘plausible risk of a genocide’ in Gaza, and that war crimes and crimes against humanity are also being committed. Governments continuing to buy and sell arms to Israel are complicit in these crimes. 

 

It is our responsibility to force Israel to end its assault on Gaza and agree to a long-lasting ceasefire. It is our responsibility to secure the release of the hostages. And it is our responsibility to end the genocide. We can not go back to the “business as usual” of Israeli oppression. Global Leaders: we call for an arms embargo against Israel. Now!
